

SEAMUS HAJI
Seamus Haji is first a foremost a DJ, everything else in his prolific career came as a natural progression.From the age of 16, playing hip-hop, soul, funk, disco and early house for infamous London Sound Systems in the 80s he was an instant crowd-pleaser.Since then,Seamus has played all over the world, holding residencies at London’s Ministry of Sound and also Pacha across their London and Ibiza nights, while also touring for the likes of Defected,Hed Kandi and MoS among others. Since the mid 90s, Seamus has produced many a club classic under various monikers,such as Mekkah, Big Bang Theory, Get This! and I-jahto name a few, and is well known for global dance floor staples from ‘Weekend’ and ‘Take Me Away’ to chart-topping releases ‘Last Night A DJ Saved My Life’ and his infamous remix of ‘Boogie 2Nite’. Since 2002, Seamus has also been at the helm of his own much-respected house music label, Big Love for which he has either signed, produced or remixed over 200 releases and 20+ compilations. His own blissful label outings in recent years include collaborations with Chic’s Audrey Martells, Michael Gray, Kathy Brown, Mike Dunn and Rimarkable to name a small few. Today, Seamus’s relationship with Defected Records continues to grow, returning to the label as A&R Manager in 2019 with a special focus on sister label Glitterbox Recordings. Approaching 2025, Seamus remains a firm fixture at the label’s flagship festivals Defected Croatia and Defected Malta, with many of his bright and uplifting throwback releases heard across the imprint’s hundreds of events yearly.
